ADAM ONDRA - Working Golpe de Estado in Siurana
23. 1. 2011 - To make waiting for the movie shorter, here is small preview of the shots from Siurana - Spain. Adam Ondra is trying 2 very different superhard 9b routes. Unclimbed bouldery project and then amazing line from Chris Sharma - Golpe de Estado 9b.
The movie will be finished when it is finished, it is our best interest to make it firstly well and secondly as soon as possible, but it is really terribly hard work to put 80 hours of good shots and information about this little big man into one simple 90 minutes movie. So I just say that is in a very advanced level of editing now... sorry... ;-)

deadpoint off the double monos was crazy
as someone who has just gotten into climbing over the last couple years (dipped my toes in around 2016 and got serious about 2 years ago) seeing a young adam is like uncanny valley for some reason
i miss this pre fame honnold as lame and corny as it sounds, he used to have this bright, excited look in his eyes all the time and it really seemed like the only thing he cared about was getting to the next hold
afaik nobody repeated this route after Chris fa in 2008 and Adams repeat in 2010

Listening the music is way more difficult than climbing the route.

lol honnold climbing to biggie smalls is pretty funny.
You can watch the rope as Kevin falls off the top of Gaia... Alex reels in a good armful and it means the difference between a scary but safe fall and two broken legs. Alex is good at more than just climbing!!

I'm a bit puzzled as to why he wouldn't put some gear in at 2:22 ... would have diminished his chances of hitting the deck considerably. Indeed a perfect catch though.
There are no gear placements higher up. Watch any other video of 'Gaia E8 6c' and you'll see the same gear.

Rather than focus on your own personal enjoyment, learn to appreciate greatness when you see it.....fuck your personal beliefs about what climbing should be. he is our Michael Jordan whether you like it or not

This kid is a marvel. His June 2017 free solo of El Cap's Freerider route is arguably the greatest athletic achievement in human history. That may sound like an overstatement, but consider that he is the only human to complete it, likely the only human to SERIOUSLY consider it. Factor in the incredible risk of death, and you have a stunning accomplishment. The fact that Alex is an avowed atheist only makes me like him more. He faces his mortality with no need to believe in nonsense.
